This is the second piece that I composed for string quartet. My previous piece was based on the subtle timbral differences cause by the non-equal tempered tunings of 7th and 11th natural harmonics. The present piece was also composed based on this same idea. In this piece, the violoncello has a scordatura tuning; I am attracted to the unusual timbre of the looser, scordatura strings. Each sound in this piece has its own colour, and in this way it is possible to listen to the pieces as an interplay of changing colours in the relationship between discrete sounds.
